I watched a flower bloom within my minds eye
The twisted roots revealed themselves I stopped and wondered why
Of all the people in the world it opened petals up to me
And kept it’s beauty on its sleeve it shone so vibrantly
I must admit that I was scared to see
the petals when they fell
I realised without them we are just as bare with dirt as well
With sudden clarity they shine and flutter simple melodies, they bring a certain spell
To each that may not listen lost in sudden short tranquility
Mechanical envisions take the toll on history
But we are lost in our own dances tired shuffles endlessly
never stop to look around view the world at its own depth
The petal falls all in a single breath
Still caught up in a dream it seems serene
But nothing ever comes alive
A mountain top, a coast, a line between us
Reality began a gentle slide
Like a silhouette beneath my windowsill escaping me
I can’t ever really know the truth
The evidence that stuck like concrete on my fingertips began to dissolve and subside
